Lisa Kovitz is a senior vice president and media strategist in the the consumer group at Edelman NY, working on behalf of clients ranging from Trojan condoms and Microsoft to Listerine and Nissan. She has more than 25 years of both broadcast and print media relations experience on behalf of consumer products and services, ranging from soft drinks, snack foods and high-end wines and spirits, to cosmetics, luxury goods and automobiles. She came to Edelman in 2006 after nearly seven years in similar role at Burson-Marsteller.
Prior to Burson-Marsteller, Lisa worked at Cairns & Associates, where she was the senior vice president leading the agency's media practice, and helped publicize such clients as Disney Consumer Products Group, Universal Studio Consumer Products Group and The Theater at Madison Square Garden. Previously, she was a vice president in the media group at Hill and Knowlton in New York, where she ran the Frito-Lay and Pepsi-Cola businesses, and a media director at Dorf & Stanton prior to that. She began her career in the publicity department of Arbor House, where she worked with authors Elmore Leonard, Irwin Shaw and celebrity autobiographers David Brenner, Dick Cavett and the late Merv Griffin.
Lisa is a graduate of Syracuse University's S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications, with a degree in Television/Radio. In addition to PCNY, she is past president of Women Executives in Public Relations.
